Activity bar reference

Use the activity bar to choose what to browse. Open an item to work with its details in a content tab.

Click an activity to show its panel. Click it again to hide the panel. If you see only icons, use their tooltips or turn labels back on. For extra actions, click the three-dot menu button (⋮) in the panel header.

Project

Files
Browse the folder and open files to read, edit, or inspect their history. Start here for the sample's README and index.html.
Find in Files
Search across the project. Try searching for formatTemperature to follow how the helper is used.
Script Runner
Find and run supported scripts and project tasks. The sample needs no build script; open its page and tests in a browser.

Git

Commits
Browse history and open a commit to inspect its message and changes. Look here after your first commit.
Staging
Review saved changes, select what belongs in the next commit, and commit it.
Stashes
Inspect and restore work that you temporarily set aside.
Reflog
Inspect local Git reference movements, such as checkouts and resets. Use it to investigate where a branch or commit went.

DevOps

These activities need a connected repository. They are not available for the local sample yet. The GitHub tutorial walks through publishing a practice repository and connecting its DevOps features.

Issues
Browse and work with issues on GitHub or GitLab.
Pull Requests / Merge Requests
Review proposed branch changes and discussions. GitLab calls these Merge Requests; GitHub and Bitbucket use Pull Requests.
Actions / Pipelines
Inspect automation runs and their results: GitHub Actions, GitLab Pipelines, or Bitbucket Pipelines.
Releases / Downloads
Browse GitHub releases, GitLab releases, or Bitbucket downloads.

Assist

Commands
Browse reusable AI prompts and commands for recurring work.
Session List
Find this project's open and saved Zide Assist sessions.

Where are the other tools?

Click Branch in the project header for branch and worktree actions. Click Git in the menu bar for Branches, Worktrees, Tags, and Git Overview. For QuickTree, click Assist, then QuickTree. For a terminal or CLI Agent, click Tools. That menu also has Session Watch, which brings together sessions across projects.
